Introduction:
York like many universities across Ontario and Canada is facing significant financial and budgetary pressures. To proactively respond to these challenging issues, York took steps to examine how we run the University from an administrative standpoint.
The PRASE (Process Re-engineering and Service Enhancement) program was introduced in late 2009, to assist the University in identifying and in developing more effective services and use of resources in support of its core mission in teaching, learning, research and public service. PRASE is critical to the University’s ability to achieve its strategic planning objectives developed through the White Paper, University Academic Plan and Faculty and divisional plans. In particular, there is widespread awareness and understanding that the way we currently deliver services can be done more effectively, efficiently and simply, and in doing so will avoid unnecessary duplication.
There is strong support across the University for moving forward quickly to implement PRASE – Phase 2, to help us maximize the human and financial resources available to effectively support our core academic activities and improve our services.
